Gambling addiction

In this clip from God of Gamblers, the main character wins a game of dice through what may be called superhuman ability or cheating. It is not merely supernatural luck, though that may play a part in it. In the Asian gambling genre, “cheating” is just another word for “really good at gambling.” It’s a totally different outlook than found in American gambling films like Rounders or The Color of Money. American gambling films, though they may feature larcenous characters, seem preoccupied with fairness and morality, whereas the Asian films embrace life, unfairness and immorality included. The Asian gambling films seem to say, “Yes, the game is rigged. But that’s gamble. That’s life. And it’s wonderful.”

A movie I recently made for an English Class giving some statistics about gambling addictions

The addicts are not the majority. Sure they are out there and its awful. I’m a dealer and I really do not enjoy dealing to them because I know that they are likely to loose and they are gambling their money to survive and not for fun like most others. But don;t forget that casinos are licensed by the state they are in, and therefore heavily taxed by that state, providing income for the state’s budget. Gambling itself is not the evil, it’s people with no control.

But how to prove to somebody that he or she is addicted? I have a friend who believes that he can predict the future, and he is different from the other 1000000000000000 people who play the casino (roulette) because he has super powers. He says that this is his “money factory”and he always wins. We had an appointment for today but he decided not to come because he may “lose the flow of producing money at casino”. WTF !?!?!?!!

Good video, inaccurate statistics. Gambling doubles the bankruptcy cases in America? Really??? The only place you could get that kind of a statistic would be a cooked one.

Gambling is not the problem, people making poor decisions and everyone expecting the government to come in and save everyone is the real problem.

This country needs to become free again, free to work hard and make your way, and free to make mistakes and pay for them.

Gambling is ruining our family. When I was younger our government opposed this filthy addiction. Now they bend over backward for the sleezy industry. Politicians that support gambling should be jailed for promoting such a wreckless habit.

lottery and any of games (if play with money) or make a bet is gambling, having a minimum survivable salary from job took long time to recover what you lost from gambling, let say 1 month you earn $1.5k your house bill cost $300 per month(electric, telephone, water bill) F&B $600 per month the rest saving and petrol is about $600. if you gamble it, this may exceed $600 to ruin your life.

I agree with the video as far as gambling is concerned. However, poker isn’t gambling, and it’s sad that people with all the info available in this day and age still think it is.
