Libertarian vs. Congress: Don’t regulate the Internet
Rep. Ron Paul Lays the Smack Down on Internet Government Control. He tries in vain to convince his fellow congressmen that the government should not regulate the internet. Today the House started down this slippery slope by passing a bill that legislates Christian morality and bans online poker. 317 votes for “I don’t get the internet” verse 93 please keep the internet fair and free.

@mathiastheok: It’s almost as though he is the only sane person in the entire building sometimes. If only he was 30 years younger, I’m sure he could make an even more serious run at the Presidency.

Thats not regulation. You’ve been misinformed.
The constitution didn’t stop congress from turning over the power of our currency to the FED or many other bills that have passed for that matter.

Ron Paul I thank you
Regulating the internet would be a violation of freedom of the press.
your correct
Libertarian= the only people in this country who still follow what our founding fathers thought.
google dontmakeuspay ! you’ll definitely like it
but.. we need to regulate the internets to prevent pirates like me from stealing stuff..
What is regulation? Not exactly an easy definition. If we tell ourselves that regulation is essentially the control of internet, then it is evil (as well as improbable). But if regulation is the monitoring of illegal actions on the internet, then what is there to complain about. Complaining about watching out for illegal activities seems a bit, well, retarded.
Then again, we are talking about a libertarian who voted against gay rights.
pure logic.
Keep your friends close and keep your enemies closer!
Of course they want to regulate the internet. With the trade of information we are realizing, SLOWLY, that we exist in a world of ideas and therefore, a world of abundance. The interests of those that seek power are served by the idea of scarcity. The only truly scarce resource is time, and we are running out.
How would Ron Paul get campain funding though his internet credit card scams, if Congress regulate the Internet.
My god, I love Ron Paul.
It’s so easy to support Ron, I mean he just spanks everyone with the Constitution and they’re to ignorant/corrupt to realize it.
Open Internet is a must. The Net Neutrality Act seems to be a necessary evil, as it would prevent major phone companies from taking control and/or blocking content. However, in such an instance of that happening, any “open” company would likely flourish.
Well said Penlord.
Ron Paul isn’t a gentleman so stop referring him to him as that, congress.
Call ‘em daddy.
