The Casinos – Then You Can Tell Me Goodbye The Casinos lead singer Gene Hughes died Feb. 3, 2008 of complications from an October car accident. He was 67.

    No I haven’t, It isn’t as intense. A big change happened in her life that she is dealing with. She knows I’m still there.

    Lovely song. Mr. Hughes lived in my neighborhood briefly when I was a kid. I did know and like this song so I had a sort of vague idea of who he was. But, being a kid, probably didn’t fully get it. What I do recall, is that he was very soft spoken and just nice. Very low key. If you didn’t already know, you’d never suspect he was an entertainer. I also, for some reason, remember that he had very gentle looking brown eyes. Funny the things that stick out in our minds years later….

    04/20/10 … I remember when I first heard this song about Nov. of 1967 and I was in Vietnam and boy did it make me think of home and my future wife hey, this is ‘Good Stuff!’

    1967 at 15 years old, I sang the harmony for my good friend John and did a sax solo on this song. I am sure we could do it today with the same draw. This song was priceless in an age of acid for bringing young lovers together.
